Central axis of Grozny is Putin Avenue which gradually turns into Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov Avenue. This symbolic transition marked by a barely noticeable turn, thereby main sights of the city - a high-rise complex "Grozny City" and a huge mosque "Heart of Chechnya" - look like as valid architectural dominants. So Putin Avenue visually goes out between skyscrapers, and the mosque took the place of the crown of Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov Avenue. I don't know this effect is the result of of urban planning policy or this is random, I can only guess. But the street view with the 62-meter minarets makes a strong impression on the tourists who come to Grozny.
Residents of Krasnodar Territory have been waiting for this snowfall from December. It started when we drove down the highway to my godmother. At low speeds, but with headlights, we drove through a blizzard like Matthew McConaughey traveling through the galaxy in last November. It would be exciting, but there were a lot of broken spaceships and cargo shuttles into a ditches of road. No doubt, snow in Kuban was a highly anticipated, but as usual we are not ready for it.
You can find inspiration even in the March rain, gloomy urban landscape and chilling wind. The aim of this small photoset is an attempt to convey just such atmosphere. It wasn't easy, but I like the result. Cold, damp and slightly depressing.
Yesterday at the square in front of the Krasnodar Circus PSAs 'Express Your Feelings' was filmed . Krasnodar residents could watch dozens of people with taped mouths. Yep, in Krasnodar there is shooting not only Time-lapse and club video, but also a serious video with meaning. Very soon you will be able to verify this yourself, but for now is a few photos from yesterday event.
At 160 kilometers south of Krasnodar there is a small hamlet Guamka which is located on the banks of a mountain river Kurdzhips. For thousands of years this small river has been carving out a beautiful gorge in the mountains, Guamka Canyon. I was there recently with my friends. There is an impressive symbiosis of mountains and Indian summer!
